Life Long Crocheter

My mom taught me to crochet when I was 8 years old. I started off using her left over yarn balls to create scarves for my dolls and stuffed animals. Soon, I was making up my own patterns, including a beautiful (to me) mutli-colored sweater. It didn't fit me, but it did fit my stuffed pig, Wilber. Success!

It wasn't until after college that I really began to crochet using patterns. The first project I ever made using a pattern was a Granny Square Sampler Blanket made up of 35 different squares. This project taught me much about crocheting, reading and following patterns, and how to create a beautiful piece I wanted to share with others.

Years later, after many attempts (and lot of ripped out stitches), I have a notebook full of my own patterns. Almost everything I create for sale, or to give as gifts, comes from one of my original patterns.

Now that I have children of my own, I look forward to teaching them how to create with yarn and hook.
